Keeping Score
What did you eat and do today?
With the Bank of Health, keeping score is easy as long as you keep track of your food, drink and activity. It's points on for good behaviour, or money off for bad! There are also BONUSES for especially good behaviour - to really accelerate your points and your chance of winning! The person with the most points wins all the money in the Bank of Health!
Criteria: you like winning, you want to be healthy, and you have friends who want to be healthy!
Activity: + 1 point
10,000 steps a day (use a pedometer for this!)
½ hour sweaty exercise/weight training
(jogging/kickboxing etc - so 2 points for 1 hour)
1 hour yoga
1 hour very energetic housework/cleaning
One Day Bonuses + 1 point
You get 1 point for following each of the rules below!
Wheat free day
Alcohol free day (though 1 glass red wine sometimes is ok!)
Caffeine free day
No Eating after 8:30pm
White food free day (no white pasta/white rice/white bread
all day)
Super One Day Bonuses + 2 points
No chocolate or biscuits all day
5 types of Veggies in a day*
1.5 litres of water
Food + 1 point
Porridge for breakfast
Healthy smoothie for breakfast
Food + .25 point
Piece of fruit (eg apple/orange/pear/plum/grapes**)
Portion of 1 type of vegetable (eg carrot/broccoli/aubergine/avocado/salad)
Penalties
Whenever you do something thats not so good for your health, you have to put MONEY into the Bank of Health. This would be added incentive to ensure you are on your best behaviour!
Food/Drink Penalties: - £1
skipping breakfast
1 chocolate bar
1 cookie/doughnut/slice cake
1 scoop of ice cream
2 scoops of low fat ice cream
1 unit of alcohol (1 glass red wine a day is ok)
1 pint of beer/guinness
5 french fries
1 hamburger/slice of pizza/bacon slice/other really fatty or fried food
Activity Penalties: - 50p
If you do not exercise at all in a day, then you need to take 50p off. Remember you can always do lots of walking as your exercise - plus 10,000 steps gives you a point!! See our activity page for more on how to take 10,000 steps a day!

Please note:
* tomato/lettuce/cucumber/spring onion all counts as one type of veggie - "salad"
** banana doesn't count as you should be limiting yourself to one banana a day!
